2024 started with me feeling like I was in a position to slow down just a tad bit and adjust what I focused on. 3 months into the year, life did what life does and showed me that you never know what it has in store for you. I have switched careers a few times, but this last minor pivot was an unexpected tough one, so i've had to give attention to it that I didn't anticipate.
That said, I took some time off this year just to relax and decompress. I've been on go for a decade. I typically like coastal areas and good food nearby. Just due to the fact that I don't have that type of relaxation time right now, I opted for a staycation at the Gaylord Texas for a few days and spending time with family over the weekend.
Both were cool. Cool coming from me is peak-level great, fyi. I'm pretty level-headed and don't get too high or low about much.
My time at the resort was spent sleeping, eating, relaxing, and not behind a thought, book, or computer. The only thing that could have made the experience more well spent is more time to do it all over.

I spent the rest of my time celebrating in Marshall with the fam. It's always a good time seeing your people, at least for me it is. They've help create who I am today, and I see that everyone doesn't get that, so I'm thankful to contiuously be poured into.
We talked, had a nice dinner at Saltgrass, and ended everything with bowling. It was a good night.
I wrapped everything up by visiting more family and eating more.
